Overview:

Ms. Carson has an extensive background in medical and laboratory negligence litigation and products liability, including medical device, pharmaceutical, fire and life safety equipment, and water system flow control products. She has obtained judgment, dismissal, or summary judgment in laboratory cases in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and Georgia involving claims such as death, nerve damage, sexual assault, employment discrimination, false-positive HIV results, failure to timely report critical test results, and failure to diagnose cancer. She has also successfully defended cases in Michigan and Texas involving claims of extensive property damage and personal injury resulting from sprinkler system discharges, and recently obtained summary judgement on a third party complaint in a $1 million wrongful death claim in New York State involving allegations of failure to properly and timely inspect and repair/replace fire detection equipment in an apartment building. Ms. Carson also recently second-chaired a jury trial in Northampton County, Pennsylvania that resulted in defense judgement at the close of plaintiff's case in a $100,000 property damage claim alleging defects in a hot water heater temperature and pressure safety relief valve.

Ms. Carson was a member of the core team of attorneys involved in Whitney & Bogris' national representation of a latex glove manufacturer in over 350 personal injury cases, and as part of that litigation, she coordinated defense efforts in five jurisdictions. Ms. Carson headed several trial preparation teams during the course of that litigation and negotiated favorable settlements in a number of high-exposure cases. Ms. Carson's practice also includes subrogation, premises liability and insurance defense litigation.

Ms. Carson has contributed to the state-by-state survey on admissibility of toxicological evidence to be published by the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section. She was elected Partner in 2004, after joining Whitney & Bogris as an associate in 1996.
