ATTORNEYS Janet K. Coleman / Partner Overview: Ms. Coleman has extensive experience in the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device products liability litigation. She currently defends numerous DES cases in Washington, D.C., and was responsible for coordinating defense efforts in four jurisdictions as part of Whitney & Bogris’ national representation of a medical device manufacturer in over 350 personal injury cases. Ms. Coleman was a member of the trial team that obtained a defense verdict in favor of the manufacturer in Laconia, New Hampshire. Her practice also includes fire and life safety and flow control products liability, premises liability and insurance defense. Ms. Coleman joined Whitney & Bogris in 2000. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Coleman was a staff attorney at the firm of Venable, Baetjer and Howard, where her practice focused on medical products liability defense. She has a B.S. in Nursing and worked in that field for ten years prior to entering the practice of law. This education and experience lends a unique insight into the medical issues involved in the cases she defends.
